Journeys of a Lifetime

500 of the World's Greatest Trips

The typical options of travel are generally described in one or two pages of color photographs and maps, at least half the space. Entry contains brief advice on when to go, how long the trips last, how long in advance of the plans, special tips for packing, and websites for more information. Highlights of this trip are detailed in order to get an idea of what you see and do. Some trips, however, listed at least one point.

Of course you should judge a book so carefully. By definition, have not taken much of the trip!

I looked at the trips I have had are great and I noticed some deficiencies in their opinions. Here are some examples:

1. Each record is treated as if nothing can be closer interest. As a result, you should see the location to see how you can combine several trips contained in a book. For example, many trips to New England is not far and you should consider doing more than one visit.

2. The deadline for the use of other events are not always considered to be sufficiently detailed. For example, Boston's Freedom Trail featured in the book. But it says that if there is a Patriot Day (Monday April), you can also see recreations of the battles of Lexington and Concord and the management of the Boston Marathon on the same trip.

3. Some of the advice seemed so wrong from my point of view. When I went to the Galapagos Islands, I was there for 10 days in the dry season and rainy season in 4 days. The rainy season is terrible! The people there said he was always sure to come in the dry season (which ends in early winter in North America). The book does not mention this issue when we talk about when to go. In addition, many of the most interesting things to do in the Galapagos are not mentioned.

As a result of using this book to start dreaming a little about what can go see. I was fascinated by some of these decisions for Australia and New Zealand have never heard of, but it looked very nice. But many tasks outside of the book to find out what you really need to know before selecting and organizing the trip.
